Yeah it's really hard to have the main storyline delayed now I wonder if all of these are this flashback type? The name sounds like the Iruka flashback will be continued. Kinda weird since we already know that Kakashi becomes Naruto's sensei for example (179 "Jōnin in Charge Kakashi Hatake")

It does suck that there is a huge filler right in the middle of such an interesting time in the series. But the anime is getting dangerously close to the manga......

Yeah they can't let it catch up, at least so far it's an interesting filler

A homepage states that ep. 178 will have a good animation team and ep. 180 with a certain Sessha Gorou as animator and director, who is said to have epic skills or something like that Well, I'm excited to see if that's right. That Sessha Gorou guy has done a small number of episodes before, including "The Longest Moment: Sasuke versus Itachi" and "Eight-Tails versus Sasuke". Ep. 180 is the 400th Naruto episode overall, so maybe that's a further hint for Sessha to be really really good if he is to take over for this anniversary episode.

at least this is some of the best fillers there had been in the whole shippuden, imo.

Naruto wrote: at least this is some of the best fillers there had been in the whole shippuden, imo. Yeah I'm quite exited about them, they're way about what I expected. I love 177, although the storyline is completely boring in theory, it's very well staged so it's still a great episode! The only thing I really didn't like was the meeting of Kakashi and Iruka, that they met "randomly" seemed so incredibly staged I had preferred if Iruka had searched out for Kakashi for some reason, just to avoid that akward staging. soundtrack is great though, it seems they used a guitar only version of "Sadness and Sorrow", also they used "Hinata versus Neji" of the old Naruto soundtracks. Last time (Ep. 176) there was this scene with Naruto training bunshin no jutsu with a track which is very close (yet not identical) to evening. Might be a variation as well. I love those (possibly) variations of old tracks alot, I hope they bring out a new soundtrack album soon! Oh, Iruka's memories about his last moments with his parents totally clash with the manga by the way...: http://www.narutobase.net/manga/Naruto/503/6
