Hello all, I am new to the forums and have been watching Naruto for the past year and love it.
But I am kinda upset. I refuse to read manga or I will become like my fiancee and won't watch the episodes. But why is this series dragging back-flashes out so much when we are more interested in the aftermath? We just had a huge outrageous climatic battle that I am so proud of Naruto of and now we are in La-La back in the past land...wtf???
And Danzo?????? ^&^&*^**(&(&%^$*&*&%^&^%&*^)(*&()^(&)*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHY?????? I was so giddy when they 1st announced Kakashi!

First, welcome to the forum!
There is a simple explanation for the flashbacks: the anime production team needs to make these so called filler episodes or otherwise the anime would quickly catch up to the manga. If this happened, anime episodes would seriously diverge from the events in the manga and no-one wants that. I can't explain this in any more detail without spoiling future events for you.
About Danzo: that is the reaction people who read the manga had approximately one year ago. Either start reading the manga or be patient until the anime gets to that eventually. I promise things will be resolved.

Like borisbeast said, filler episodes are necessary when animating a manga that isn't finished. Each manga chapter is usually about 17 pages long, and only released once a week. if the anime only released what was in the manga then either the episodes would have to be spaced out to every two or three weeks, or each page on the manga would have to take up like 1.4 minutes on screen. The best way around this is to simply throw in a filler ark from time to time to let the manga stay ahead of the anime. I do suggest reading the manga if you are interested in keeping with the meat of the story and avoiding the filler aspects. It is a very good read!
Also Just so you know once the anime picks the pace back up we are about to enter a very cool ark, anime watchers are in for a treat in the near future!

Yeah just to restate the purpose of fillers are just to allow for more space inbetween the manga and the anime. I only started the manga to prevent spoilers. My friends read them before me and would come and spoil everything so that is another reason you should read them. and you won't lose interest in the anime. It is nice to imagine for yourself but seeing them animated brings what your remembered into a really cool perspective.

I am just so afraid to lose interest after reading the manga like my fiancee does.....and yes, she loves anime and video games! Aren't I so lucky?

There is no reason to write "SPOILER ALERT", if someone enter these forums they should already be aware of spoilers.
